I love this time of year.
While looking out the window at the leaves scattered on my neighbor's roof yesterday morning,
this poem came to me.
Fall's Melody
by Janet F. Smart
Leaves scatter upon the rooftops, while
walnuts wait for the first frost.
Sapphire skies, cool nights, dewy mornings,
sweet apple cider and whiffs of chimney smoke.
Pumpkins sit on the front porch, smiling
because fall has arrived.

What a lovely Fall poem. I guess we were in the same mood as Fall arrived. I also posted a poem on my poetry blog, "Shadows Of My Mind" Fall is my favorite season, I love the colorful leaves, they are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gigi. Fall is my favorite season, too.
DeleteLove this idea as much as I love fall! Poetry is not my strongest area, so this is a good exercise. :) Thank you!

DeleteJanet,
ReplyDeleteI love your poem. You've used beautiful fall imagery. The writing prompt is great, too. That gives me the inspiration to try a poem, too.
Hi Brenda. I'm sure you'd write a great poem.

ReplyDeleteHi Quinn. Some of the leaves are turning here already.
DeleteMy favorite thing about fall just might be apples.
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Marcia! We have apple trees and we've been making apple pies and putting them in the freezer.
