Wisdom and My Bookshelf

I'm not sure if you are familiar with Willow Tree figurines or not, but I love them.

I only have one, and it is one I bought at a yard sale last year.

She sits on my bookshelf across from my computer desk. I look at her for inspiration.

This one is called Wisdom.
It is a young lady reading a book.
Sorry the picture came out a little blurry.

I'm hoping that along with her and the books on the shelves beneath her, I will gain the wisdom I need to write the perfect story.

  1. Janet, which one of your books would you recommend to read if you're writing for children? I see at lest one of my books in your pics.

  2. The two I think I like best are Writing Children's Books for Dummies and You Can Write Children's Books, I know you said only one, but I like both of those. They give you very useful information, tips and exercises. Which book do you have?

  3. Janet,

Thanks so much for stopping by my Writing Nook and leaving a comment. I have wanted to write children's books for years and have several manuscripts in my desk drawers that need to be polished and sent to publishers. That is why I decided to take the writing course from the Institute of Children's Literature.

I hope we can get to know each other better. I'm always happy to meet a new friend and a new writer friend would be awesome. Please drop by again.

    Blessings,
    Mary

  4. Hi Janet,

I thought I had the DUMMIES book but it was "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Publishing Children's Books." Very good book. Then some of the spines of the books in the picture are difficult to see so I'm not sure about any others.

One book that I love is "The Ready Reference Handbook: Writing, Revising, Editing"
