This and That

A few days ago I sent my middle grade manuscript Lucy of Tupper's Hollow to a publisher.
Now the wait begins.

I found a poem I'd written last year and forgot about. I read it and thought it would be a perfect poem for a child's magazine. I took it to our writer's group meeting last night. We worked on one of the stanzas that needed a little help and I think it is now ready to submit. So I am looking for a magazine to send it to.

Cynthea Liu is having a Red Light Green Light free-tique over at her sight, if you want to give it a try. There is a link to her sight Writing for Children and Teens over on my side bar. Just follow her instructions and send in the first page of your manuscript and Snoop will give it a Red Light or Green Light. If you get a Red Light, you start over again with another first page of another manuscript.

Happy Writing, everyone!

  1. I think the waiting is the worst part. Mon-Sat the mail goes and I can't wait to see if there is anything for me. Sunday has no mail so I wonder if anything will come on Monday.

Even a rejection is a nice interruption in this waiting game.

I think I'll probably be too chicken to submit any pages to a free-tique (but I LOVE the idea). I'm going to go check it out now, and maybe I will decide to be brave.

I wish you really good things for "Lucy of Tupper's Hollow."

  3. Best of wishes in trying to get your work published. I hate waiting myself. Hope it doesn't take too long to get some good news.

  4. The waiting game is terrible! It's so hard when you are waiting to get your mind on your next project! Well, it is for me. I'm headed over to the free-tique site & check it out!

  5. The waiting game is the worst part of any manuscript submission. I sent one on March 20th and it may be up to 6 months before I hear an answer.

I just sent you an email with a link to some children's magazines.

Thanks for dropping over to my Writing Nook and commenting on my short story.

    Blessings,
    Mary
